Official info

The rocket launcher is a little different from that of other games, in that the rockets move relatively slowly. The primary fire mode shoots a slow-moving, high-damage rocket projectile at a medium rate of fire. The secondary fire mode will explode all your flying rockets at once. This means that you don't need to hit your opponent directly - just get the rocket near him, and use the secondary fire to cause splash damage which will badly hurt him. The rocket launcher uses rocket ammo which is shared with the Mortar, T.A.G. Seeker and the Hagar.

More details

The rocket launcher is the weapon of choice to do some serious fragging! It is so powerful because it packs three warheads into one rocket. Make sure you have enough rockets left to use it! You need to make every shot with this baby count, though, as the rate of fire is extremely slow. The primary attack mode fires a devastating rocket that will explode on impact. The secondary attack mode will send a self-destruct signal to the rocket. This is very useful if you missed your target... the explosion will still have some effect.

The best strategy to use with the rocket launcher is usually to aim at your opponent but away from obstacles, and detonate the rocket when it is in close proximity, this pretty much guarantees damage, but don't pass up the chance to land a direct hit for even more significant damage. Direct hits are rare due to the speed of the rockets, but devestating if you can pull one off. This can also toss your target in the air, and if you're quick enough you can start firing a rocket where they're going to land, causing massive amounts of damage, but this 'juggling' tactic is not as easy to achieve as with the Mortar.
