Footsteps is a mutator in which players are heard as they walk. Generally, players only make sounds when they land. It is easier to hear enemies sneaking up on you with this mutator, but enemies will hear you as well. It is great for defenders and snipers, because it allows them to hear threats before they come, and adjust their readiness accordingly. On the other hand, it can make players jumpy because they hear sounds, and think it's an enemy whereas in fact it's a teammate.
