Onslaught is a team game, where the goal of both teams is to destroy the other team's generator after controlling all the necessary control points between them.
Both teams generators are shielded at the beginning of the game and shielded generators can not be damaged. To lower the shield of the generator of the opposing team, your team needs control over all the control points between your generator and the generator of the opposing team.
The control points are what connects both generators to each other. Your team needs to occupy all the control points before the other teams generator can be attacked and destroyed. The control points are neutral when the game starts but once your team touches its pad, it comes under your control and you can advance to the next control point. Once that next control point is also under your teams control, the previous control point is shielded and can not be damaged by the other team. The only control point that can be damaged and is in danger of being taken is the outermost one, the one that is not yet shielded.
To take over an enemy control point, you need to apply enough damage to the cube above the pad. Once the cube has completely disappeared, you can touch the pad and the control point is yours. Now make sure one part of your team defends this control point from the enemy and another part of the team goes on to fight for the next control point (or goes on to destroy the generator if your team now occupies all control points).
